Welcome to the Chitwan Wildlife Adventure Tour with Chingu Treks and Tours! Your adventure begins today as you depart from Kathmandu for a scenic drive to Chitwan National Park, located in the Terai region of Nepal. The drive will take you through picturesque landscapes, passing traditional Nepali villages, lush fields, and the winding Trishuli River. The journey offers a glimpse into rural Nepal and the vibrant countryside. After 5-6 hours of driving, you will reach Chitwan, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its rich biodiversity and diverse wildlife.
Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge or hotel in Chitwan, where you can relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. In the evening, you may take a leisurely walk along the Rapti River or explore the local area before dinner. Afterward, get a good night's rest, as the next few days will be filled with exciting jungle activities. Overnight stay in Chitwan.
After breakfast, you’ll embark on your first day of jungle activities in Chitwan National Park. The park is renowned for its rich diversity of wildlife, including one-horned rhinoceroses, Bengal tigers, wild elephants, and hundreds of bird species. Your day starts with a jeep safari through the park, where you’ll be accompanied by a trained naturalist guide. The safari will take you deep into the jungle, and you’ll have the chance to spot a variety of animals in their natural habitat, such as rhinos, deer, monkeys, and possibly even the elusive Bengal tiger.
After lunch, you’ll head to the Elephant Breeding Center, where you can learn about the conservation efforts to protect elephants. The center is home to several young elephants and provides an opportunity to get up close to these gentle giants.
In the evening, enjoy the Tharu Cultural Program, a traditional dance performance by the indigenous Tharu people, who have lived in the Chitwan region for centuries. The colorful dance, accompanied by rhythmic music, provides insight into the local culture and heritage. It’s a fun and immersive way to experience the unique traditions of the Terai region. Return to your lodge for an overnight stay.
On your second day of wildlife adventure, you’ll have more opportunities to explore the wonders of Chitwan National Park. The morning begins with a canoe ride along the Rapti River. This peaceful ride allows you to spot crocodiles sunbathing on the riverbanks and observe various bird species, including kingfishers, eagles, and herons. As you drift along the river, you’ll enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the park and its abundant wildlife.
After the canoe ride, you’ll take a nature walk with a trained guide, exploring the forest on foot and learning about the local flora and fauna. The walk provides a unique perspective on the park’s ecosystem, where you might encounter wild boar, deer, and various bird species.
In the afternoon, you can enjoy another jeep safari through the park. This safari will take you deeper into the wilderness, offering a chance to spot more wildlife, including rhinos and possibly even the rare Bengal tiger. The naturalist guide will provide detailed insights into the park’s conservation efforts and the biodiversity of the region.
After a day full of jungle adventure, return to your lodge for dinner and relax. You may have some free time in the evening to unwind or take a stroll around the area. Overnight stay in Chitwan.
After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to Chitwan National Park as you begin your journey back to Kathmandu. The 5-6 hour drive will take you through scenic landscapes, allowing you to reflect on the incredible wildlife experiences and nature encounters you’ve had over the past few days. As you drive back to the capital, you’ll pass through rural villages, farmland, and the winding Trishuli River once again.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can relax and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure. You may want to explore more of the city, shop for souvenirs, or simply rest after your wildlife adventure.
