Your journey to the Langtang Valley begins with your arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital. Upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, a Chingu Treks and Tours representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is yours to rest and explore the city. You might want to wander through the lively streets of Thamel, visit local cafes, or purchase any last-minute trekking gear. In the evening, you will enjoy a welcome dinner with your fellow trekkers and your guide, where the itinerary and trekking plans will be reviewed.
Today, we leave the bustling city of Kathmandu and head toward Syabrubesi, the starting point of our trek. The 7-8 hour drive offers spectacular views of the countryside, terraced fields, and distant mountains. Along the way, we’ll cross the Trishuli River and pass through small villages nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Syabrubesi, a small village on the edge of the Langtang National Park, we will settle into a local lodge and rest for the night, ready to begin our trek the following day.
The trek officially begins as we leave Syabrubesi and follow the trail through dense forests of bamboo, oak, and rhododendron. Along the way, we cross several small streams and waterfalls as we steadily ascend the valley. The trail is gentle, taking about 6 hours to reach Lama Hotel, a small settlement located along the Langtang River. After settling into our lodge, you can enjoy the serene surroundings and enjoy the sounds of the river as you relax and prepare for the next day’s trek.
Today’s trek takes us deeper into the Langtang Valley as we ascend through beautiful forests, crossing several small bridges and passing yak herders' huts. The trail gradually opens up, and the majestic views of the Langtang Lirung (7,227 m) and other surrounding peaks begin to dominate the landscape. After a 7-hour trek, we arrive at Langtang Village, a traditional Sherpa village located at 3,430 meters. Langtang is known for its vibrant local culture, and we will stay overnight here, enjoying local cuisine and the peaceful atmosphere of the valley.
Today’s trek is relatively short but rewarding, as we ascend towards Kyanjin Gompa, the highest point of our trek. The trail follows the river and gradually climbs through yak pastures, with spectacular views of Langtang Lirung and the surrounding peaks. After approximately 3 hours of hiking, we reach Kyanjin Gompa, a sacred Buddhist monastery nestled at 3,870 meters. The village is surrounded by glaciers, and you’ll have time to explore the area, enjoy the views, and visit the local monastery. This day also serves as an acclimatization day, allowing your body to adjust to the altitude.
Today, we embark on a challenging but highly rewarding hike to Tserko Ri, a ridge that offers some of the best panoramic views in the Langtang Valley. The 8-9 hour round-trip trek takes us to an altitude of 5,000 meters, where we are rewarded with breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung, Langtang Ri, and several other peaks in the Langtang range. After soaking in the stunning mountain vistas, we descend back to Kyanjin Gompa for a restful evening. This day is an excellent opportunity to take in the grandeur of the Himalayas from an incredible vantage point.
After a fulfilling stay in Kyanjin Gompa, we begin our descent back down the valley. The trek today is mostly downhill, passing through the same beautiful forests and pastures, but with the advantage of being able to enjoy the scenery in reverse. After approximately 6-7 hours of hiking, we reach Lama Hotel, where we’ll spend the night and reflect on the breathtaking trek we’ve just completed. The evening is free to relax and prepare for the final leg of our journey back.
Today, we complete the last leg of our trek, descending from Lama Hotel back to Syabrubesi. The trail is mostly downhill, passing through familiar forests and villages. After about 6-7 hours of trekking, we reach Syabrubesi, where we started our adventure. This is your chance to relax and take in the tranquil atmosphere of the village one last time. You can also visit the local shops to pick up some souvenirs or enjoy a final dinner with your trekking team.
We bid farewell to the mountains and drive back to Kathmandu. The journey takes approximately 8-9 hours, and along the way, you can enjoy the scenic views of terraced fields, rivers, and small villages. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel for some rest and relaxation. The evening is free for you to explore more of Kathmandu or indulge in some last-minute shopping.
Today marks the end of your memorable Langtang Valley Trek with Chingu Treks and Tours. After breakfast, you will be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight back home or onward destination. We hope that the memories of this incredible adventure in the Langtang Valley will stay with you for a lifetime. Safe travels, and we hope to welcome you on another trek in the future!
