Kyanjin Gompa, a sacred Buddhist monastery at 3,870 meters, offers stunning views of Langtang Lirung and the surrounding mountains. Once we arrive, we’ll have the rest of the day to relax, explore the monastery, and acclimatize to the higher altitude.
Today is an acclimatization day, allowing you to rest and fully enjoy the stunning surroundings of Kyanjin Gompa. You can visit the monastery, explore the area, or take a short hike around the region. For those looking for more adventure, there are optional hikes to nearby viewpoints, including a trek to the Kyanjin Ri viewpoint for panoramic views of the Langtang peaks, or a hike to the nearby glaciers. This day is crucial for adjusting to the higher altitude and ensuring a safe trek onward.
After a restful day in Kyanjin Gompa, we begin our descent back down the valley. The trek back to Lama Hotel takes around 6-7 hours and follows the same trail through the Langtang Valley, but this time, we’ll be able to enjoy the scenery in reverse. As we descend through forests and pastures, we’ll pass by yak herders and encounter views of the valley from a different perspective. Upon reaching Lama Hotel, we’ll relax and spend the night, ready to continue our journey the next day.
